STOURPORT Swifts have an early chance to avenge a drubbing at the hands of Weston-Super-Mare when they play them at Walshes Meadow tomorrow (3pm).
Player-manager Tim Langford described last month's 4-1 defeat as the worst performance in his time in charge but believes they need to win if they are serious about staying in the top six in the Dr Martens Western Division.
"Weston are the in-form side at the moment but we have to be looking at beating these teams if we have hopes of staying in the top six," he said.
"The defeat at their ground has been the only game where I felt we've let ourselves down."
Swifts have been boosted by Matt Southwick's decision to stay at the club and the return of skipper Lea Shaw.
"Matty's been playing more consistently than anybody while Lea's return has had a big influence. He's the captain and that's what I am looking for from him."
Langford's hunt for a striker to replace Lee Booth has seen him put in a seven-day approach for Oldbury's Richard Ball and speak to Andy Wright from Rushall. He also has seven days in for Tividale midfielder Richard Taylor.
Asa Charlton returns after suspension while keeper Rob Clarke, who suffered a stiff neck after the Chippenham game, should be fit.
