A mixture from the golden age of jazz and show tunes is set to delight some of Here-fordshire's oldest residents.
Off-the-wall local group the Poplar Trio will be playing songs from the 20s to the 50s at residential homes in the county, including Ledbury, between January 21 and 25.
Leo Caithness, Mary Ragg and Johnny Cartwright will be accompanying themselves on banjo-ukulele, guitar, melo-deon and accordion.
Lindsey Morrison, Hereford-shire Council's arts liaison officer, said the group's appearance is "odd-ball sophistication, a retro cocktail lounge set gone slightly askew, displaying a long-lost colonial etiquette".
The tour is being paid for by funds raised through selling-off unneeded arts equipment.
"It was felt that this fund should be returned to the community, for the benefit of older people who are unable to get to arts events," she said.
