RIC Sanders, the violinist in Fairport Convention since 1985, is bringing his trio to Worc-ester's Huntingdon Hall next Friday, January 11.
Playing alongside Ric will be well-known Malvern musician Vo Fletcher on guitar and percussionist Mike Gregory, and special guest for the gig is fellow Fairporter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Leslie.
The group's repertoire is drawn from the work of jazz greats such as Chick Corea, George Gershwin, Duke Elling-ton, Joe Zawinul, Miles Davis, Stephane Grapelli, Django Reinhardt and John McLaugh-lin, leavened with original compositions and reworkings of Fairport numbers.
Apart from Fairport, Ric Sanders has been a member of the Albion Band and Soft Machine. He has also played with a wide variety of artists including June Tabor and Jethro Tull.
Vo Fletcher's association with Ric goes back many years and they have played together in many different musical settings. Vo writes extensively for TV, and has worked with artists as diverse as Nigel Kennedy, Rik Mayall and David Lowe.
The show starts at 8pm. Tickets are £9 (£8 concs) from 01905 611427.
