TOWN party-peoplewho enjoyed the New Year revelries are now being urged to think ahead to celebrations this June.
Bromsgrove District Council is encouraging residents to plan celebrations for the Queen's Golden Jubilee well in advance, to ensure parties run smoothly.
Council leader Cllr Nick Psirides (Con, Norton) said: "The Queen's Golden Jubilee will be celebrated on June 3, this year, and we expect a wide range of events will be arranged in connection with it, including garden parties, street parties and beacon, bonfire and fireworks displays.
"But there are lots of things to consider when planning such an event, including obtaining licenses, getting first aid cover, informing the emergency services, getting the landowners permission, litter disposal and taking out insurance.
"In some cases, street closure orders will have to be obtained from the council and safety barriers hired. It is for this reason that we urge everyone considering an event to start making their plans as soon as possible. Please do not leave it to the last moment."
An advice booklet has been issued by the event co-ordinator, The Golden Jubilee Party Office, which contains relevant information and tips any party planner may need.
It is available directly from their office at PO Box 4320, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8DE.
