MANY of Bromsgrove's schoolchildren are set to benefit from lessons learned in The Gambia, as a group of county specialists prepare to go on a venture to Africa.
Once the team returns from the trip, which is scheduled to take place in February, they will visit schools in the area to share their experiences with the pupils.
The visit, which has been organised by the charity Teachers In Development Education (TIDE), is taking place with the aim of increasing knowledge about solutions to environmental problems, the economics of development and methods of improving social well-being.
Amongst the travelling team will be people from Worcestershire County Council and University College Worcester.
Worcestershire County Council's Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) officer, Alun Morgan, who will be going on the trip, said: "A visit such as this is essential to gain first-hand experience of how strategies to combat global problems are being developed, so we can then take the lessons we have learned into schools for the benefit of the county's children."
