A FORMER Cofton Hackett lady celebrated her 100th birthday with cards, flowers and a telegram from the Queen.
Lillian Halford, a resident at the St John's Nursing Home, Bromsgrove, enjoyed visits from family and friends, with a party in the afternoon, organised by staff at the home.
Lillian, who was born in the Forest of Dean in 1901, moved to Bromsgrove in 1942 after losing her husband Frederick in the First World War.
She has three children, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her second great-great-grandchild was born just four days after her birthday celebrations.
She has been a resident at the St John Street nursing home for four years.
Nurse at the home, Karin Miblett, said: "Lillian had a wonderful day. I think she was a little bit overwhelmed, but she still enjoyed herself very much."
