WORCESTER City Council is offering an environmentally-friendly solution for left-over Christmas trees.
Four large skips have been placed throughout the city for people to drop in their old trees, which will then be mixed with other green waste to make compost.
The skips have been set up outside the Homebase stores in Hylton Road, Elgar Retail Park and Worcester Road, St Peter's, and outside the Worcester Garden Centre in Droitwich Road.
The skips will be in place until Sunday, January 13, and are free.
City assistant environmental protection officer Hannah Phoenix began the recycling by throwing in the first tree into the Hylton Road skip on Friday, January 4.
"The trees get chipped down and turned into compost," she said.
Christmas trees can also be left in the green recycling skips at the Hallow Road and Bilford Road tips.
