WORCESTER City's assistant boss Mick Tuohy has hailed Martin Weir as the perfect professional despite the veteran defender not starting the last four matches.
Weir is set for a recall to the team after Mark Blount's return to Burton Albion, but Tuohy admits the ex-Kidderminster Harriers star was unlucky to lose his position in the first place.
"He's been the perfect pro and to be honest the week he was left out at Welling he had been suffering a slight back injury and heavy cold.
"It was a breather more than anything, there was nothing malicious in the decision but now he is back in contention."
Tuohy is buoyant about the remainder of the season starting with the visit of bottom club Salisbury City on Saturday.
"There is a real buzz about the place at the moment and we're really looking forward to the second half of the season," he said.
Several of City's first team players could see some much-needed action in the central Conference this week after the enforced weather break.
The reserves play Hereford United at St George's Lane on Wednesday night kick-off 7.45.
