WITH reference to hunt supporters' recent letters, I was present at the Boxing Day meet at Droitwich and can vouchsafe that no paint was thrown by anti-hunt campaigners.

Our group has checked with the police and no complaints had been made.

On the other hand, one of the hunt supporters who spat at some of us who want a ban on this so-called sport was remonstrated with by the police.

Mr Burgess would have us all liars, which shows the extent of his desperation. Forty years ago no one would have dreamed of demonstrating against the hunt, the "gentry," and even 25 years ago protesters were comparatively few.

Our voice has grown stronger and, when the voices of compassion overwhelm those of hunting, then this barbaric activity will cease.

When this happens, some hunts propose to break the new laws - which only goes to prove that they have no respect for anything, not even the democracy of their own country.
