HAVING attended the Boxing Day meet of the Worcester Hunt at Droitwich, may I comment on your newspaper's report of the event.
It was reported that paint was thrown at the hotel sign. On checking with the police, I discovered they do not have a recorded incidence of paint-throwing.
However, they do have an incident of a hunt supporter spitting at two women in the crowd of demonstrators.
It was also claimed that the anti-hunt demonstrators were abusive - in fact, we played a recording of the Hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful which much of the crowd joined in with.
The aim of this was to attempt to highlight that, as Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ, it's shameful that a small minority of people feel that the way to rejoice in his birth is to slaughter - for entertainment - the glorious creatures he created.
