A MAN was in intensive care today with "extensive" injuries after the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a bus.
The collision between the blue Ford Mondeo and the First Midland Red bus took place at the Throckmorton junction of the A4538 at Wyre Piddle, at about 5.15pm yesterday.
The driver of the Mondeo was taken to Ronkswood Hospital where he is being treated in the intensive care unit.
His condition is described as serious but comfortable. No one on the bus was injured.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen another vehicle in the area, possibly turning right in the direction of Throckmorton from Wyre Piddle, to contact them.
"It's entirely possible that the driver of the vehicle turning right was unaware of the collision," said PS Paul Bogaard one of the investigating officers.
"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information about this vehicle to contact us on 01905 723888 quoting 549071."
Alternatively information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Meanwhile, a young girl was in a criticial condition after she was in an accident with a car in Kidderminster.
The car was travelling down Stourbridge Road when it was in collision with the 12-year-old.
She was taken to the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital in Birmingham with what were believed to be minor head injuries, but her condition deteriorated and last night she was said to be critical.
