FORMER Worcester City defender Mark Shail and ex-Bromsgrove Rovers midfielder Paul Webb have parted company with Kidderminster Harriers.
Both have been released from their contracts which were not going to be renewed by boss Jan Molby at the end of the season.
Molby said: "I had a chat to both of them and with one being 34 and the other 33 we couldn't really guarantee them a game in the reserves.
"That's not because they aren't good enough but we want to play younger players. They felt it was right to get on with their lives.
"I have no complaints. They have both been as good as gold. We have come to an amicable agreement with the remainder of their contracts and we thank them and wish them well."
Shail began his career with Worcester before moving on to Yeovil Town and later Bristol City who splashed out £70,000 for his services.
He signed a two year deal in July, 2000, for Harriers and made 48 appearances, scoring once. He has not revealed his plans but hopes to continue playing.
Webb, who has recently been linked with the manager's job at Bromsgrove, has been a popular member of Harriers playing staff since arriving from the Victoria Ground for a £17,500 fee in July, 1994.
Following his move to Aggborough he captained the England semi-professional side and has also been a member of the non-league Middlesex Wanderers touring squad.
When Harriers were promoted to the Football League he decided to give up the security of his full-time role as a warehouse manager to join the professional ranks at Aggborough.
He has not made a first team appearance this season, but during his Kidderminster career has played in 297 matches, scoring 18 goals.
Wolverhampton-born Webb admits to being sad at leaving Aggborough where he says he has had a 'fantastic time'.
Like Shail, his football future is uncertain, although he has indicated that he has 'one or two possible things lined up', including continuing playing.
Both Webb and Shail will be at Aggborough tonight to say their farewells to team-mates and fans when Harriers entertain Luton Town in a Division Three clash (7.45).
