JOHN Brain hailed trialist Simon Lewis as a 'natural finisher' after watching him score his fourth try in three games in a 14-12 win for Worcester Warriors at Northampton Saints last night.
The 21-year-old, who joined from Rugby League giants Bradford Bulls in December, kept up his free-scoring form since his arrival with a 45th minute try which, ultimately, won the match for the Warriors.
Head coach Brain has persuaded the winger to stay on at Sixways until the end of the season and he gave further evidence of his potential.
"He is a natural finisher," said Brain. "Our new coach Andy Keast will help him with his positional play but he has something that you cannot coach -- a natural instinct when it comes to finishing."
Chris Hall scored a first-half try while fly-half Steven Vile kicked two conversions.
Greg Meredith continued his comeback from injury with a longer than expected 50-minute run-out after replacing Gary Trueman. Scrum half Elton Moncrief played 30 minutes after coming on for Ricky Pellow while centre Scott Barrow enjoyed 60 minutes.
