IN neighbouring gardens until the past week or so, were two truly magnificent holly bushes, eight to 10 feet high and covered with a mass of berries.
Then, all of a sudden, all the berries were gone, though there were no signs of the bushes having been cut. A friend explained to me that they'd been stripped by birds he called "farings who came over from the Continent for that purpose".
Well, that's nature at work.
But what concerns me is this: Is this is a product of the EU? A warning maybe!
