Redditch United 0 Kettering Town 0
REDDITCH almost pulled off a shock result at the death after a rip-roaring FA Cup tie.
An 89th minute Mark Swann thunderbolt was deflected behind and from the resulting corner Reds sub Nigel Brown almost decapitated the unfortunate Craig Norman.
But the big-money visitors had their chances with former Wimbledon midfielder Peter Fear going close with two first half efforts and Brett McNamara missing the best chance of the match in the 62nd minute, heading over unmarked with the goal beckoning after a Fear throw bounced to him in the United area.
The underdogs started brightly with Paul Danks creating two half chances in the first minute and Neil Beagan twisting and firing wide.
But keeper Harvey Willetts and defenders Steve Frost and Nigel Niblett had to be at their imperious best as the visitors threatened after the break.
The hosts were not outclassed and earned the right to a lucrative replay at Rockingham Road.
