A NEIL Cartwright thunderbolt took the wind out of Atherstone as Redditch blitzed their opponents' unbeaten home record.
Cartwright took a touch fully 40 yards out before leathering a half volley over a stunned Dale Belford to put the Reds two up on the stroke of half time.
Paul Danks had given Nicky Cross' side a dream start after just nine minutes.
Andy Bradley and Joey Dowling combined to give the United hitman the chance to score through Belford's legs and claim his eighth of the season.
Adam Beazeley pulled one back for the Adders after home skipper Danny Martin was fouled in the area but the hosts could not find their way back as Redditch recorded an impressive win.
