REDDITCH did everything but score against a Gloucester City side who somehow escaped with a 2-1 win.
City keeper Simon Morris played out of his skin and denied Paul Danks on ten minutes.
Danks sent a fierce left foot shot into the top corner after a Neil Beagan drag back only to see Morriss deny him with a brilliant one-handed save.
Three minutes later it was player-assistant manager Gary Hackett's turn to be denied by a flying one-handed save.
Danks finally broke the deadlock on 31 minutes after another Beagan pass.
But on the stroke of half-time, Gloucester broke and a right wing cross was dispatched by Steve Jenkins.
And the diminutive Neil Jenkins piled on the misery for the visitors, climbing to head home from a corner in the 65th minute.
Despite a Reds bombardment and the arrival as sub of player-manager Nicky Cross, the Tigers hung on for an unlikely result.
Redditch have their first home game of the season against Rocester tomorrow night (ko 7.45pm).
