A MAN is recovering well after he was stabbed in an unprovoked knife attack outside his home in Worcester.
The man, who has not been named, was stabbed in the chest in the attack outside his home in Alder Close, Rainbow Hill.
The attacker, who is described as a white man, about 6ft tall and of stocky build, fled the scene in the direction of Tunnel Hill.
He was wearing a black scarf around his face, a black woolly hat and a dark-coloured jacket.
"This appears to be an unprovoked attack whereby the man has received injuries to his upper body," said Det Con Ray Williams.
"There appears to be no motive for this crime and we would like to speak to anyone with information about this incident."
The attack took place shortly after midnight on Thursday, January 3 but police did not release any details about the attack until Monday evening.
"We can only say that he's recovering well," said a police spokeswoman.
CID did not want to release any further details for fear of jeopardising the investigation.
