YOUNGSTERS in Droitwich are being urged not to dice with death again as more icy weather is forecast.
The call comes after youngsters were seen risking their lives on the ice as chilly temperatures froze the Spa's canals and pools last week.
Children were playing on the frozen Heriotts Pool, the Droitwich canal basin, near Union Lane, in the Lido Park and Vines Park.
Some of the teenagers were also seen throwing heavy objects such as concrete slabs and heavy branches onto the Lido Park pool, causing the ice to weaken and become treacherous.
Droitwich Spa beat manager PC Al Birkett said: "I would strongly urge parents to remind their children of the danger of playing on ice.
"What could be perceived as a safe place to play could result in drowning or hypothermia, especially as the warmer weather sets in."
Dog owners have also been urged to be on their guard when walking their pets near frozen water.
British Waterways waterway manager Jonathon Green, who covers the Droitwich area, said: "It's not just children people need to keep an eye on.
"Many people walk their dogs along the canal and an overzealous canine could easily bound onto the ice if the owner's head was turned."
He added: "I don't want to put a dampener on anybody's fun but it's important that children and parents realise the ice which has formed on many of our canals and rivers is not very thick so walking or running on it is very dangerous."
