A FIREWORKS display at a New Year's party sparked off the arrival of a little cracker for one Droitwich mum, whose baby decided it was finally time to make an appearance during the celebrations.
Jade Channing of Albert Street, had a welcomed surprise when she gave birth to her fourth son, Brandon, at 1.56am, just as the New Year's celebrations were coming to the end.
The bundle of joy, who was due on December 21 and weighed 10lb 2oz, was one of three new arrivals to be born on New Year's day at Worcester's maternity unit.
The 35-year-old mum said it was the best start to the New Year she and her partner, Christopher Wheatley, 43, could have ever wished for.
She added: "He obviously wanted to see in the New Year and we're delighted. I realised he wasn't going to wait much longer while I was watching a firework show, so Christopher took me to hospital.
"It was a very quick birth and we now have a great New Year's present."
