FIVE Ways Old Edwardians skipper Jez Williams is praying for another frozen weekend to spare his weakened squad.
Old Eds are set to visit North Midlands One top dogs on the back of a run of six successive defeats.
The latest loss, a 21-0 friendly defeat to Midlands Four West North, was inflicted on a Five Ways A-team but Williams is preparing to lock horns with the league leaders without six regulars on Saturday (ko 2.15pm).
Half backs Mike Richards and Gerwyn Jones are unavailable, along with back row Dave Rhodes.
And fellow back row John Parsons, full back John Smyth and winger Joe Lindley are all ruled out through injury.
The planned friendly against Midlands Four West South neighbours Droitwich at the weekend fell victim to a frozen pitch.
An unlikely win on Saturday could extend fourth from bottom Five Ways' cushion on the drop zone.
