One star
Derived from the video game of the same name, this is one of those films you can watch with the sound down while listening to something more interesting like the shipping forecast on Radio 4 - and you'd still know what was going on.
The most basic of plots sees action girl Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) trying to save the world by destroying an ancient triangle of great, almighty power which allows the bearer to control time.
But of course the baddies also want the triangle for their own wicked way.
And that's basically that. There were some pathetic attempts at plot twists along the way but you keep finding your hand reaching for that Radio 4 dial.
Luckily it's short and most of the cast were clearly playing it for laughs, otherwise there should be a few awards for best ham acting of the year.
Effects and stunts were what they are - effects and stunts.
Somebody is quoted on the back of this video as saying "the most stylish and entertaining action adventure movie in years!"
Can't wait for the movie version of Atari tennis though.
