REDDITCH supporters who visited Cinderford for Saturday's farcical match had every reason to voice their disapproval, writes Max Hall, Advertiser Sports Editor.
The match was a Christmas pudding of a surface to start with but Mr D Hannis, from Stonehouse, Gloucestershire decided the match would go ahead.
There is no questioning the Redditch performance was poor in the first half but the fog which got thicker after descending at 3pm made the match unplayable after the break.
True, both goals were visible from the touchline but there was no way to distinguish between players' strips after the break and with the linesmen unable to see the far touchline how could they make offside decisions?
Mr Hannis should have been brave enough to ignore the home side's understandable objections and call it off.
