A FREEZING January evening saw speaker Mr Pettifer give a talk on Sweet Peas at their Best.
He brought a promise of summer to the evening and gave some practical advice on how to grow these popular plants to show standard.
Ably assisted by two colleagues, he showed some colourful slides of these beautiful flowers at their best, with long straight stems and five flowers to each head.
He then went on to answer questions.
The next meeting will be at Wythall Village Hall, Alcester Road, on Wednesday, February 6, at 7.30pm when Mr R Kirby will try to lift the winter gloom with a trip to Italy, talking about The Enchantment of Villa Tarranta and Baramian Islands.
