THERE were no serious house blazes in Redditch during the Christmas holidays following a huge campaign to raise awareness of festive fire hazards, writes Becky Procter.
Redditch fire crews launched the crusade to warn people of the dangers of candles, overloading plug sockets and Christmas tree lights in an attempt to prevent any blazes.
Last week it was announced there had been no blazes linked to festive hazards and Station Officer Pete Baker said it could well have been down to the campaign.
Crews also led displays in the town centre and various supermarkets throughout December to push the message of fire prevention and the dangers around the home during the festive period.
