IAN Foster was an unlikely two-goal hero after jumping off the bench to make a big impression at Torquay United.
Foster has been kept out of the team by the form of Colin Larkin, Bo Henriksen and Dean Bennett up-front following a suspension for a red card at Chesterfield.
But a hamstring injury to Larkin gave Foster his chance at lowly Torquay and he grabbed it with both hands.
After scoring within six minutes of appearing, Foster crowned a big away win with another goal near the end.
And he declared after the Torquay clash: "It's been a long time since I got a start in the first team so hopefully that will be staking my claim to get back in the team.
"I have played about five or six reserve games, the full 90 minutes as well, so fitness wise I don't think it's a problem. I'm fully fit and raring to go.
"And it was nice to come off the bench on Saturday and grab two goals. For 20 minutes work, I will settle for two!
"The first goal was a ball over the top and I just had one touch and played it past the keeper.
"With the second one a cross came in and Drewe Broughton has tried to head it then kick it. The ball's rebounded to me and I've just managed to sneak it in."
Foster, 25, was top scorer in the Conference-winning campaign but has yet to really get going in the Football League.
He scored against York City but had otherwise just notched two in the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
The former Liverpool and Hereford man continued: "The confidence is fantastic in the club now and this will help it no end.
"The system with three up-front has suited us. There are so many more options. Bo (Henriksen) has slotted right in but it doesn't seem to matter who plays, it just suits the team massively."
