POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after a 12-year-old girl was left in critical condition when she was in collision with a car in Kidderminster.
The unnamed girl, who was a pedestrian, was seriously injured in the incident involving a red Vauxhall Nova being driven by a Kidderminster woman at 5.55pm on Monday outside the Stars newsagents in Stourbridge Road.
She was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital where her condition was described as critical yesterday as the Shuttle/Times and News went to press.
Sgt Bjorn Havinga, of Kidderminster Police, said: "This is a terribly traumatic event for the girl and her family. The thoughts of myself and my colleagues are with them at this time."
Any witnesses are asked to call Kidderminster Police on 01562 820888.
