MALVERN Town have signed 20-year-old striker Dean Roberts from Dr Martens Western Division outfit Evesham United.
Roberts has been with Evesham for the past three seasons, but has recently struggled to hold a regular place in the starting line up.
The capture of Roberts, who in the not too distant past was attracting considerable attention from a number of League Clubs, will be seen as a major signing for the Express and Star League Premier Division side, and comes quickly on the back of their ambitious development plans announced last week.
Town general manager Richard Anson said: "We have been interested in Dean for a while now and would like to see him as part of our long term plans, however I am sure Dean's main interest is getting back out on the park and scoring on a regular basis, and that, we are very happy to support."
Town do not rule out further signings over the next couple of weeks.
Anson continued: "We have just put in a seven day approach to another Dr Martens side for a young player who we believe will add further strength to the squad."
