An inter-club quiz and Christmas party brought a successful year to a close.
The quiz, both verbal and on slides, tested the minds of contestants and audience alike, and the outcome was in doubt until the very last question when the Kidderminster team of Graham Ford, Derick Tilt and Iris Day beat the holders of the Greenhow Trophy, Clows Top, by half a point - after a re-count.
The winning Kidderminster team had already won the Morgan Shield, at Wall End, Wolverhampton, in October.
Astley starts the New Year with the annual meeting, on Wednesday at the village hall, starting promptly at 7.30pm.
After the meeting Michael Ecob will give a slide show on "Spring Flowers", which will include the orchids of north Cyprus.
The slide show will begin at 8.45pm and visitors will be welcome.
