HEREFORD'S David Park will start his 2002 European Tour campaign with a five-week tour of Australia later this month.
He will begin with the Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth on January 24 and then compete in four more tournaments that are co-sanctioned by the European Tour.
From Perth he will move to Melbourne for the Heineken Classic and then finish the Australian leg with the ANZ Championship in Sydney.
Following that he will travel to Singapore for the Caltex Singapore Masters and then go on to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the Carlsberg Malaysian Open.
The Burghill Park professional will be spending the next couple of weeks relaxing and working on a few swing modifications after retaining his card at the Tour Qualifying School.
Last season a combination of injuries and loss of form saw him slip down the order of merit table which meant that he was obliged to go to the final qualifying school in Southern Spain.
There he produced some of his best golf of the year and a joint 12th finish meant that he retained his card and the right to compete with the elite in European golf for another season.
Following discussions with his long-standing coach David Llewellyn, who helped him during his amateur days, and with advice from Tim Barter, he is making a few technical modifications to his swing.
Park is confident that these changes will give him the consistency he needs to be successful on the increasingly competitive European Tour.
