NOTHING less than three points is acceptable according to skipper Carl Heeley ahead of Worcester City's clash with bottom club Salisbury City tomorrow (3pm).
The Whites are propping up the Dr Martens Premier Division with just 14 points from 25 games and only three wins to their name.
City are struggling with injuries but Heeley is expecting City to make it three wins on the trot and also avenge a league double inflicted on them by Salisbury in last season's campaign.
"Salisbury have had a tough season but have picked up a bit with a little mini revival but we are the home team to a bottom of the league club and will be expecting three points - nothing less is acceptable," he said.
"It's silly to set targets for the rest of the season and we've got to tackle each game as it comes but it would be interesting to see where we would finish if we won the majority of our games.
"Teams are going to drop points so if anyone can string some results together they could be in contention."
Heeley is hoping his players have an even greater hunger to succeed after their last three matches against Hinckley United, Hednesford Town and Stafford Rangers fell victim to the cold snap that enveloped Britain.
"It seems like quite a while since we've played but winning two games on the trot before and during Christmas was a big boost and we are determined to carry that on," he said.
"I think an enforced break can disrupt you if you let it, but it can also create a hunger to carry on that run as well and hopefully that is how it will work with us."
Martin Weir looks set to resume his partnership with Heeley at the heart of the City defence after failing to start the last four games, with loan signing Mark Blount having returned to Burton Albion, and his captain has no qualms about playing alongside him.
"Mark Blount did very well for us and he's a good player but it was always on the cards that Burton Albion would recall him and Martin would return," said Heeley.
"He was slightly unfortunate to be left out but he's a good pro and we know each other's games well and we'll be fine."
Striker Adam Webster is poised to make his City debut and Heeley is eager to see how he performs after his move up a division from Bedworth United in the Dr Martens Western Division.
"I haven't seen Adam in training yet but I played against him and he had a good physical presence and a lot of attributes plus a good first touch," he said.
"It's good to see a new face in the team and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to a higher level of football."
Formcast: City to win 2-0 and hat-trick of victories.
