WE, the members of Victoria Park Residents Association, feel we must reply to the disparaging remarks made by Kevin Douglas ('Verdict on Skatepark', Malvern Gazette, December 28).
He infers that the residents of the park area were in some way part of the 'trouble' encountered by the district council.
We would like to take this opportunity to point out that until the skate park was built there was no trouble of note on the park! If the district councillors had listened to the residents in the planning stages, they could have saved the town council a lot of money and the long-suffering residents a lot of anxiety.
We now call upon the council to take immediate action to resolve the situation by consulting with the obviously dissatisfied skatepark users and to relocate the facility to a more generally acceptable area.
Viv Thomson, chair, Victoria Residents Association, Park Close, Malvern Link.
