THE outcome of the Midland Alliance title chase still has plenty of twists and turns before it is decided, according to Bromsgrove Rovers joint-boss Gary Hackett.

Rovers entertain Shifnal Town tomorrow (3pm) seeking to close a nine-point gap on leaders Stratford Town but Hackett's is not taking anything for granted against the Shropshire outfit.

"The big thing is not to underestimate them because they have already recorded a victory over us earlier in the season so we are aware of what they can do," he said.

But Hackett insists Rovers still have a shot at league glory and hopes they can sneak through on the rails as his old club Stourport Swifts did last season.

"It's halfway through the season but there are a lot of twists and turns and we have to make sure we keep the pressure on," he added.

"At the moment Stratford, Stourbridge and Rushall are the main contenders but Oadby and Quorn have had some good results too.

"Sometimes a team can come through the pack to win and hopefully that can be us."

Sam Bowen could be pushing for a place in the starting line up but Hackett has been pleased to see goals coming from all positions.

"We have got a lot of creative players and you normally find somebody popping up to get on the scoresheet," he said.

"Grant Beckett has got two in two, Les Palmer the same and Marvin Blake has been in the goals. It takes pressure off the strikers when others are chipping in with goals."
