I write expressing my views, on the new Safeway extension (Malvern Gazette, January 4).
Having already a large and, I expect, very profitable store, selling fresh meat, vegetables and groceries, it now seems to want to focus on health and beauty, mother and baby, entertainment and toys.
Thus we will see more of the local but smaller shops and businesses suffer and possibly close.
I, not being a trader or business in Malvern, support Malvern's Trade Association in opposing Safeway's enlargement to its store. I do not wish to see the few small shops that Malvern Link, Barnards Green and Great Malvern have left to disappear or else Malvern will soon disappear.
