HEREFORD United have asked the Football Association to intervene after being left waiting for a £20,000 share of gate receipts and expenses from their FA Cup tie at Swindon Town.

The cash-strapped Bulls were due to receive their share from last month's second round tie, which they lost 3-2, within 14 days of the match, but Swindon, who have financial problems, have yet to pay up.

Hereford Director of Football chairman Graham Turner: "It's common knowledge that we have had difficulty in running the club and, despite our cash-flow problems, we managed to give Wrexham their cup money on time in the previous round."

But Swindon director Bob Holt said that the money would be paid to Hereford in "due course" and added that a cheque was posted to Edgar Street on December 28 -- and later cancelled when it failed to arrive.

Holt added: "We sent two cheques -- one to Hartlepool and one to Hereford -- but Hereford did not get theirs. And when the cheque didn't arrive we decided to cancel it."
