ALVECHURCH pub-goers were treated to a traditional form of theatre on New Year's Day - which has also become quite a tradition in the village.
Alvechurch Morris Men have kicked off the new year for the last 12 years by performing at The Crown pub, Withybed Lane.
About 300 people packed the pub car park to see the 'mumming' event, a branch of morris dancing, which is believed to date back several hundred years, before the dancers headed off to perform in the village square.
