A WORCESTER dental centre which has become a target for yobs is having a screen installed to protect staff.
The screen was due to be erected today at Lowesmoor dental drop-in centre, where female reception staff have been the victims of violence and abuse.
Worcestershire Community and Mental Health NHS Trust has taken action as part of its zero-tolerance stance on violence towards staff.
They decided to install the shield after Health and Safety officers visited the centre.
Members of staff were also sent on anger management courses to learn how to handle violent and abusive patients.
The Evening News reported last month on the problems that the centre was having with abusive patients and youths congregating in the building.
On one occasion, a group of four youths urinated in the waiting area.
When one of the youngsters returned to the dental centre with his father the next day demanding treatment, he was escorted from the premises by police.
