WORCESTER Wolves coach Rick Solvason hopes his team will have learned some important lessons from last week's heavy defeat.
The Wolves go into tonight's National Basketball League Division One clash with North London Lords at University College Worcester (7pm) still smarting from a 104-59 thrashing by champions Oxford Devils.
It was the heaviest defeat in the club's short history, although Solvason said: "I don't think we were that much worse on the night.
"We played well in the first and third quarters, but in the two quarters where we played poorly, they really turned it on.
"Oxford won the league last year and still have virtually the same team, so we knew it was going to be a tough task.
"We haven't really been beaten like that before, but hopefully we can take it away, learn something from it and gain some experience."
Solvason is confident the players will have got the Oxford defeat out of their systems in time for tonight.
He added: "Suffering a loss like we did, we won't know until tonight how we will bounce back from it. But team spirit hasn't been shattered from what we have seen in training this week."
North London are level on points with the Wolves in joint sixth place with an identical playing record -- three wins and five defeats.
Solvason added: "I don't know much about them but like us they have lost to some of the good teams and won a few as well. It is a game that both teams will be looking to win but we are confident we can come through."
Wolves should be at full strength for the contest, with Greek star Fotos Mavraganis now back in the country although he is unlikely to be considered for tonight's game.
The club is also hoping for another full house of around 400 for tonight's game and Solvason is delighted at the level of support from the people of the city. "We always tend to get good crowds and hope it continues."
