WORCESTER Rugby Club go into a three-week period today which will either make or break their season.

The Sixways club, who are two points behind National One leaders Rotherham having played a game more, travelled to Birmingham & Solihull this afternoon knowing they could not afford another slip up.

After defeats to Coventry and Exeter left them behind the eight-ball going into January, they face Henley Hawks at Sixways next week before the all-important trip to Clifton Lane on January 26.

The month coincides, however, with a fully fit squad for head coach John Brain to choose from for the first time this season. And that, according to Brain, could be a major advantage for Worcester.

"January is a very big month for us, you could say it is a make or break time," said Brain.

"Touch-wood, we are at a state where virtually everyone is fit for the first time this

season. It's a good situation for me to be in and it's nice to have a few selection dilemmas."

Brain has had to deal with a lengthy injury list at times this season with big names Craig Chalmers, Elton Moncrief and Kingsley Jones all out at various points of the campaign. But with a fully fit squad, competition for places could not be more intense with players such as Winston Stanley battling to win his first team spot back.

"We have a Warriors match against Bath on Monday and that will give some players, who are out of the first team at present, a chance to impress," added Brain.

"They really do have something to play for because they can earn selection for the following week against Henley and put themselves in the frame for the game against Rotherham. The guys, who will play at Birmingham, know that they've got other players who want their shirt."
