A SEVERELY disabled Droitwich girl is settling into a special bed, thanks to a donation from local fund raisers.
Emma Foster received more than £1,000 from Droitwich Spa Round Table to pay for her hi-tech bed which enables her to sleep more safely.
It is now easier for her family to care for her.
The youngster, who will be 10 in March, cannot walk and talk, suffers from a life-threatening heart condition and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy following a heart operation when she was a few months old.
Mum Sarah, of Shernal Green, said she turned to the Round Table for help after Worcestershire Social Services agreed to fund just the bumpers for the bed, costing £115.
"Round Table members have been brilliant," she said.
"We don't know what we would have done without them.
"As Emma gets older she is becoming more awkward to pick-up and look after because she is getting heavier.
"This bed has made it easier for me to care for her. It also has sides on it, so it has made a safer environment for Emma because now she can't fall out."
