YOUNGSTERS from a Worcester amateur dramatics group have hit the road with a winter cabaret to entertain old people throughout the county.
Members of Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society's Youth Section are taking their Old Time musical show to various residential and nursing homes in the area.
There, they perform old favourites such as Burlington Bertie From Bow, My Old Man Said Follow The Van and Just A Song At Twilight.
The teenagers are part of the 70-strong youth section which arranges a cabaret every year, to entertain the elderly in homes from Warndon, Worcester to Kempsey and Malvern.
Producer Sarah Hadley said this year's show had been a very enjoyable one to organise and its programme is loved by the residents at the homes.
They sing along with many of the numbers and enjoy taking part in an Old Time Hats competition.
"One of the most surprising things for me was finding out that a lot of the youngsters had never seen Old Time Music Hall and were not familiar with the songs, or the way it is performed. But they've done really well and produced a very good show."
Besides being in cabaret, the youngsters have just started rehearsing for their annual summer show which this year will be the musical Annie.
It is due to be staged at The Swan Theatre, Worcester, from Tuesday, July 30 to Saturday, August 3.
