REVELLERS in Worcestershire wanting to sing and dance away this year's jubilee celebrations are being urged to apply for a licence.
Wychavon District Council's environmental health licensing team is reminding residents that public entertainment, which includes singing and dancing, has to, by law, be licensed by the authority.
And officers are reminding public party planners that they need to apply for a licence at least 28 days before it is needed.
"Our main priority is that residents enjoy themselves in a safe manner at properly organised public events," said environmental health officer Graham Simm.
"We will be liaising with the public, other council departments and the fire and police service to make sure a good time is had by all."
Any applications must include details of where the event is to be held, how many people will attend, whether food is to be provided, details of when and what sort of entertainment there will be.
"Officers are only a telephone call away and are happy to help make the Golden Jubilee something to remember for the whole of Wychavon," added Mr Simm.
