CAF MALVERNIA is back, bringing a selection of fine musicians to a discerning Malvern audience.
Following the success of two earlier events, in January and April, promoter Jonathan Pedley is hoping for another good turnout at the latest soiree tomorrow (Saturday) at the Malvern Youth Centre, Albert Road North.
The Caf Malvernia concept is to present acoustic music and song for a listening audience, bringing talented performers into a convivial setting.
Performances will be in two sets with an extended interval for socialising. There will be a caf serving tea, coffee, soft drinks, cakes and snacks, and a bar serving beer and wine.
Among the performers are Set 'em Up Joe - three musicians with over 100 years of experience between them but still sounding fresh and vibrant.
Lizzie Pearman and Paul Boyce will be performing a collection of contemporary and classic songs in a folk/jazz style. Their set typically features songs by artists as diverse as Sandy Denny and Sting.
Vicky McKee is a USA-born singer-songwriter who has made England her home. Her songs boast sharp, sophisticated and witty lyrics with tunes that blur the boundaries of blues, folk and country.
Tim Cranmore, the man behind last week's recorder festival, has convened a group to play a quartet for recorder, flute, viola and cello by J C Bach. Also promised is a "recorder onslaught" with recorders of all sizes - plus a crumhorn - playing a selection of early dance tunes.
Tickets (£5/£3 concessions) are available on the door, For more details call 01684 573406.
