THE patriotic fervour of this past weekend is expected to be repeated for a further Golden Jubilee celebration at Malvern Theatres next Sunday.
Singing and Dancing in The Reign is an unashamedly patriotic royal party being put on in the Forum Theatre by the Midland Musical Theatre Group.
If the title does not give away what the show has in store, the group is even getting more than 1,000 mini flags produced to give to the audience before they take their seats.
"To start off with it's a right royal party, all singing and dancing and with some comedy," explained show director Sue Wilson.
"We do a musical sequence of London stage musicals over the last 50 years and finish off with an England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales sequence."
The comedy, which has the Queen as the theme, is left to MMTG stalwart Barry North while the Harlequin Stage School of Worcester contribute a 'Changing the Guards at Buckingham Palace' sequence.
Mrs Wilson added: "We have invited people to dress up in red, white and blue and bring along flags to wave. We are also making 1,200 little mini flags to give everybody.
"I think it's going to be a fun evening for everyone - quite a nostalgic and happy evening."
The Singing and Dancing in The Reign show is in aid of the Whizz Kidz charity and takes place in The Forum on Sunday, June 16.
There are two performances only, at 4.30 and 8pm. Ticket enquiries and bookings should be directed to Tony and Carole Langford on 01905 425299 or the Malvern Theatres box office on 01684 892277.
