EVESHAM youngsters stand to benefit from the initiative of a town businessman.
Paul Turner, of Vale Cycles in Port Street, is offering a free security post-coding service and cycle check for anyone cycling to work, school or college between next Monday and Friday, June 21.
All he asks in return is for people to make donations, which will then be handed to Evesham Adventure Playground. "My son was always involved with it and it is something we have always supported," he said.
The service is available from 8am to 6pm and has been timed to coincide with national Bike Week, which runs from Saturday to Sunday, June 23.
Wychavon District Council is urging people to use the week as an incentive to get on their bikes.
Sustainability officer Cherrie Mansfield said: "As well as keeping you fit, cycling does not pollute the environment or cost much money all you need is leg-power."
She added: "I hope Bike Week will see lots of people leaving their cars in the garage - you never know, they may end up staying there."
