A MARQUEE is being sought by the organiser of a successful new farmers' market.
The inaugural Sunday market, which took place on May 19 at the Hunter's Inn in Longdon, near Upton, was such a success that organiser Anne Mietke has decided to run it on a monthly basis.
The next one will be on June 16 and Ms Mietke is appealing for someone willing to donate a marquee or sell it cheaply.
"We need to shelter about 20 to 25 farmers to keep them all dry and happy," she said.
The market sells seasonal fruit and vegetables, herbs, meats, fruit juices and other products sourced as close as possible by up to 20 different stalls.
It had originally been intended to run the the market once every few months, but its popularity has led to a more regular slot being planned.
"To really make the market worthwhile for producers and customers we have decided to make it monthly," said Janet Yates, Worcestershire farmers' markets co-ordinator.
"This gives farmers a regular outlet which allows them to plan and also helps customers organise their shopping needs."
Offers of a marquee and inquiries about the market should be made on 01684 833120.
