ST James's School will next week host a saxophonist and clarinet player described as the most exciting young talent around.
Martin Kershaw will give a recital during an evening of French music at the school's Oakdene Centre on Wednesday, June 12. He will be joined by David Kershaw on piano.
Martin studied at Berklee Music College in Boston, Masachusetts, and now lives in Edinburgh.
He has recently undertaken engagements in Singapore, Cambodia, Florida and France and his own quartet, The Martin Kershaw Jazz Quartet, has won substantial funding from the Arts Council.
Martin will be joined by his father David Kershaw, a freelance musician who lives in West Malvern and who is himself known as a superlative pianist and accompanist.
The father and son combination rarely get the opportunity to play together.
The evening will include works by Debussy, Faure, Poulenc, Ravel and Satie and begins at 7.30pm.
