ON Sunday Barnards Green 2nds played a strong Kidderminster team at Chester Road.
Opting to bat first, Green made a slow but solid start, before Roy Mayo was caught at mid-wicket. Chris Hill was then joined by Tim Williams and these two put on 139 for the second wicket before Tim departed for 56.
John Wheeler joined Hill who continued to time the ball well before being yorked in the final over for an excellent 120. The Green finished their 20 overs on 203.
The Kidderminster openers set about the Green attack before Hooper had Pyke well caught by skipper Robin Longmore at second slip.
Young leg spinner Justin McMillan was introduced to the attack and bowled a superb spell, 1 -34 off his nine overs, but the Green could not contain Kidder-minster who edged home in the penultimate over with four wickets to spare.
Roy Mayo made a late appearance on the bowling front and finished with 1-2 a clear underestimation by the skipper!
