THE article in the Evening News about the need for UCW to expand has opened an opportunity for the three St John's projects to present a co-ordinated approach to the benefit of all.
UCW should be relocated to the Dines Green Site proposed for the schools for the following reasons.
1 Proximity to the Western Bypass makes for easier access.
2 There is ample land for future expansion and the geography of the land makes it relatively easy to develop.
3 The campus and estates would improve the environment.
4 It would also isolate student nightlife.
5 The existing college would become the Christopher Whitehead Schools site providing a more neighbourly atmosphere.
6 Easier access for pupils.
7 The site contains most major elements in place already
6 The existing halls of residence could be changed into flats.
I'm sure the supermarkets would like to become connected to both UCW and the school as it would free up the existing school site for development.
