HUNDREDS of people are expected to pack a public meeting for an update on the fight against the proposed asylum seekers' centre at Throckmorton.
The meeting has been organised by PACT - Protest at the Asylum Centre at Throckmorton.
Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff will attend to discuss the political campaign against the centre.
Jack Hegarty, head of planning at Wychavon District Council, will bring people up-to-date on the latest moves by Home Office officials.
Plans for the site have yet to be unveiled by the Home Office as officials are said to have run into difficulties trying to map an access road from the Wyre Piddle bypass.
PACT sprung up after a Government white paper naming Throckmorton as a potential site for asylum seekers was released in February.
PACT includes six councillors covering Throckmorton and neighbouring villages.
The meeting is set for 7.30pm this Friday at Pershore High School.
